We are affiliated with the British Martial Arts & Boxing Association (BMABA), with all student grades independently ratified through the Lifetime Student Grading Register (LSGR) — ensuring every grade earned at McKinstry Family Karate carries recognised, lasting value.
All instructors hold valid Insurance and current DBS clearance and are committed to ongoing professional development. Safeguarding is central to everything we do.

KICKSTART
Build Strong Foundations
Our 6-Week KickStart programme gives every new student the perfect start.
You'll learn the fundamental techniques, improve confidence and coordination, understand our values, and prepare for your journey through the Tang Soo Do grading system.
MONTHLY MEMBERSHIP
Train. Learn. Grow.
Once you've completed KickStart, you'll move onto flexible monthly membership.
Train each week at your own pace, improve your skills, develop confidence and fitness, and enjoy being part of a friendly martial arts community where every achievement is earned.
GRADINGS
Earn Every Belt
Every grade is earned through demonstrated skill, effort and commitment.
Students progress through the traditional Tang Soo Do grading system, building confidence, discipline and character with every new belt they achieve.

Black Belt is not the finish line—it's the beginning.
Dan Grades represent years of dedication, perseverance and continuous learning.

McKinstry Family Karate is led by Sa Bom Nim Iain McKinstry, 4th Dan Tang Soo Do and founder of Jin Sim Do Kwan — School of the True Heart Way.
With more than twenty years of teaching experience,
Iain is committed to maintaining high technical standards while helping every student become stronger, more confident and more resilient through traditional Tang Soo Do training.
